Big Changes

While on our trip and shortly afterwards we have had some big changes in the Hubbell house. Sam who already was saying Dada started saying Kitty Cat "Ki" while playing with (aka crawling after) Aunt Alicia's 3 kitties and the day we got home he started saying "Ba" for ball. Although Momma or Mommy is no where in his verbiage yet I am sure it will come soon :)

Also Hannah for a couple of weeks before our vacation wanted to "sleep" on the floor covered up with pillows - we took it as her saying she was ready to be out of the crib. Although we felt making the change wouldn't be the best before vacation - we were ready the 2nd night we were home. Having not done this with a kid before I wasn't sure how it would go - and had heard horror stories from friends about their kids wanting back into the crib. So we decided just to take her mattress out and leave the crib up in another corner of the room. Well she has done great! She is still on her little mattress and will be for a little while longer but we are ready to take the crib down - big step for Hannah! I had already been giving her books to "read" while in her crib and we continued that now that she is out of the crib so maybe that is why we don't think she is getting up at night (maybe she just doesn't know she can??). Anyway later the first night before going to bed myself I looked in on her and found her curled up in the middle of her mattress just like she would be in the crib. She has learned she can't flop on the mattress like she was doing in the crib b/c she hits her head on the wall which I guess is harder than the crib frame :) So in the coming weeks we will be going to pick out a big girl bed cover - although we will likely leave her mattress on the floor for a while she is making leaps into being a big girl - bittersweet to see her gain these new freedoms.

It is so good to see that you are safely back. I see that Sam has also grown so much...even since we saw him in June. He looks more and more like Brent. Can't wait to catch up soon.
