We tried swim lessons last year to no avail. Hannah wasn't ready to put her face in the water but we persevered by encouraging swimming at the apartment pool where were living over the summer in between houses. Both kids love the water! We had experiences over the cooler months at a local aquatic facility and gym. This summer we decided to take the plunge ;) and join the neighborhood pool 2 doors down - I mean how could we not?! We started going a little under a month ago and are having a great time. We rarely use the puddle jumpers we bought last year (they are a great new version of water wings). Sam jumps off the side into the shallow area with no fear. Hannah has become much more comfortable in the water herself. In fact this week she started putting her entire head under the water while staying with Nana and Granddaddy and today she began swimming!! She is so excited, as are we. We love her sense of confidence - when we told her how proud we were of her she promptly told us she knew how to swim she just hadn't been ready :) As other events in her life have gone I expect we will hear that phrase in the future. Hope you enjoy this video taken this evening of her swimming under water.
This blog is to share the goings-on of our life with Hannah and Sam. We hope you enjoy watching as they grow up.
