On Friday morning we headed out to climb Round Bald which is a nice little short hike - there are 2 consecutive hills/mountains to hike which we hope to try later but didn't want to push the kids too much. Hannah walked some on the way up and just about all of the way down - it is probably .5-.75??? miles one way.
Hannah loved sitting on the rocks at the top and jumping or bouncing on any little or large stone or bump she came across :)
Although this is blurry - it was graciously taken by a stranger and gives a perspective of the scenery - you can see the tip of Sam's head as he spent more of the time taking his morning nap.
Here he is on the way down after he woke up -
After a snack break we turned around and found Hannah wanting to carry Daddy HopHop down the trail -
Later Friday evening we went downtown to a riverwalk -

The town was setting up for a festival and Hannah had fun exploring the tents.
Sam just had fun hanging out with us -
After the kids went to bed Brent spotted a fawn nestled in the yard that seemed pretty comfy - not moving as Brent got close to get this pic
Saturday am we headed up to the top of Roan Mountain where there is a .5 mile trail to a bluff that on a clear day gives breathtaking views. Along the way Hannah stops us and says H - not knowing where she is seeing an H we look down and sure enough she found an H - can you see the H? - she is a letter lover!!
It was pretty cloudy on the bluff but we had a good time -
I absolutely love this pic of Sam - I took this over my head looking down at him in the Ergo - he was certainly a happy boy -
Hannah did trip once and got a boo boo and wanted me to take a picture of it - she was a trooper and her boo boo didn't seem to slow her down.
Our best shot of a family pic at the top of the bluff - at least you can see us all - including Sam :) We look forward to more hikes in the future - good times!

This blog is to share the goings-on of our life with Hannah and Sam. We hope you enjoy watching as they grow up.

Mountain Trip June
We just got back from a little "weekend" away in the mountains and it was great! I say "weekend" b/c since Brent works on Sundays our weekends are Fri and Sat. We left Thur and came back today - Saturday. We headed to Roan Mountain where Brent's parents have a house on the side of a mountain. The weather was glorious - highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. The windows were open the entire time. This was our first trial trip with 2 kids and it went well. Sam had a bit of an adjustment sleeping in the pack n play but overall he did really well. On Thur we got to visit with Opa who was up there for the earlier part of the week - finishing some yardwork and such. After Opa headed home we hiked around the neighborhood - saw a waterfall and went to a field where there is a helipad (for emergency use b/c the neighborhood is remote) - Hannah loved it especially b/c the helipad had a big H with a circle around it - so it went from being Hannah's helipad to Daddy HopHop's helipad. She picked daisies for everyone and Brent made a daisy crown for her which she loved. I forgot the camera so my description will have to suffice.
