Parties

This is too funny - a little out of order as this was this evening - I forget sometimes that you have to post the pictures from bottom to top in this program and had started talking about Hannah and didn't want to start over - if anyone has a trick to share please do - but anyway - our newest kitty - Edgar was on my lap and didn't want to get off and I needed to take care of the kitchen clean up so I wondered if he would tolerate being put in one of the slings i have for Hannah - he actually enjoyed it for about 5 minutes - so we snapped a pic - very funny!! He is a trooper - tolerates so much from Hannah on a routine basis, such a sweet kitty.

I love flowers and last year as we were bringing Hannah home we told her all the flowers that were blooming were blooming for her - so maybe we stretched the truth a little but Spring is a great time to enjoy the blossoms - tulips are my favorite flower and so we had an arrangement of various flowers for Hannah for her birthday.

Here are some pics from the party - we had a very low key get together - just immediate family and a couple of friends - I didn't want Hannah overwhelmed by the people and it was great!! We had brunch and Hannah was blessed with some generous gifts - one of the funny moments was her receipt of a baby doll - as Brent was showing it to her she proceeded to put the hand in her mouth - very funny! It was good to have people over to help us celebrate this milestone in her life and ours! We are certainly blessed - and will again be blessed later this year - Hannah has no idea what or shall I say who is coming into her life but we are praying for them to be best buddies.

Hannah was distracted by something she was gifted so her friend Camden stepped in to help her :)

We chose not to have a cake - so we chose instead to give her a cinnamon bun - she didn't know what to do with it at first but got the hang of it and by the time it was all done she had eaten her fill. Unfortunately all of the sugar contributed to one of the worst afternoons we have had with Hannah - I think she was just overwhelmed by the people and the sugar - but she wouldn't take a nap and was SO tired. After she cried for a good 20-25 minutes - which was rough - Brent took her for a walk and that helped - she slept a little on the walk and went to bed at her normal time so we are hoping she will be back on track tomorrow - we won't be trying the sugary treats for a while I think :)

Here is Hannah on her birthday - we baked a whacky cake - Brent's family recipe - it is a yummy chocolate cake that doesn't contain any eggs or milk - I love this coy picture of her looking at her Daddy.

Truth be told she didn't know quite what to do with it - she wasn't as impressed as i thought - she was more intrigued with the plate than anything. She isn't one to want her hands dirty so isn't the typical kid that digs in and smears it everywhere - she does like to toss things on the floor when she is finished - some of which the cats find interesting . . .
