Our First Week Home

So it has been a week since we have been home and things are going well! Here is Sam in his coming home outfit and he really is a Snugglesaurus :)Another shot - we took a couple of outfits b/c Hannah urped on her first outfit but we didn't end up needing the extra outfits. Hannah also wore the same hat - Go Heels - gotta train them early :)
Here he is when we arrived at home.
Hannah was happy to see us - in fact she burst into tears anytime we left the room and we didn't take her with us. It is funny b/c she immediately looked bigger to me when we brought Sam home. She is warming up to her brother - actually gently touching his head and hand and feet - although I had him doing some tummy time and she acted like she wanted to step on him - so we definitely have to watch her. She really enjoyed having Nana and Granddaddy spend so much time with her. We also really appreciated the week that Nana was with us. She is planning on coming back for a few days when Brent goes back to work - he is taking about 2 weeks off which is a blessing - something I could get used to :) Hannah and her Daddy are getting some good time together which she really enjoys!
We have been blessed with generous gifts and Hannah also has been blessed - our neighbors gifted her a plate and cup set that she loves and is awesome as it is shallow and helps her get to her food now that she is eating by herself.
We had a visit from Uncle Mark and Aunt Caroline and they certainly scored a bonus with Hannah with this wagon - she takes is everywhere and puts all sorts of toys in it for a ride. It is fascinating to watch how she figured out how to pull it, push it and turn it around.
He is such a cutie. We had a well check on Friday and found that he was 80th percentile for length, 16th for weight and 25th for head circumference (they mis-measured the first head measurement and thought he was 13th but after confirming the hospital's measurement they remeasured). Hannah was 80th for head circumference. I think they look remarkably similar but there are certainly some differences. We had another weight check on Monday and found that he had gained 8ounces (1/2 lb) since Friday!!! That was an awesome, affirming finding. It is cool to see how my body can provide for Sam's needs - it is also blessing that Sam eats so well! We would expect him to make it back to his birth weight within 10 days but my eating champ has now exceeded his birth weight in less than a week. So now instead of a 2 week visit we have been okayed to just come back for his 4 week visit. We are going to have Hannah's 18 month check up at the same time - so that should be interesting - will certainly keep you updated on that one.
Here is some wide-eye time. He is having more awake time and thankfully it is during the day - I pray that continues. So that is all for now - will keep you posted as we continue on our journey of life together as a family of 4.

I love the photos!

And I have felt the same way each time I brought a new baby home.... it was like my "old baby" grew 6 inches and gained 10 pounds while I was at the hospital. They seemed so HUGE compared to the new little one :)

post more pictures in all your free time. ha ha :)
